After graduation, I moved to my now-husband’s fourth-generation cattle and Quarter Horse ranch. His family had transitioned from a dairy to a beef operation, and today we raise a commercial SimAngus herd alongside a Quarter Horse breeding program that’s been going strong for nearly 80 years.
For two years, I worked full-time alongside my husband and father-in-law—calving heifers, feeding cattle, checking water tanks, and living the life I’d always dreamed of.
But I also knew I wanted to help financially. That’s when I joined the Farm Service Agency, where I spent five years learning the ins and outs of USDA programs, working closely with grain farmers, cattlemen, dairymen, and ag producers of all types. I saw firsthand the challenges our industry faces—from natural disasters to unpredictable markets—and the resilience it takes to survive in agriculture.
Seeing a gap—and stepping in to fill it.
While working for FSA and living on the ranch, I partnered with my husband and his family to market our operation—using social media, print ads, and radio to promote our horses and cattle. It was a team effort that ignited a deeper passion in me: the realization that marketing could make a real difference in agriculture.
When I became pregnant with our first child, I felt the pull to come home full-time. But leaving a secure job and steady income wasn’t a decision we took lightly. I wanted to stay home, raise our baby in the ranch lifestyle, and continue contributing financially.
That’s when the idea for my business was born.
I had watched so many talented ranch wives launch side hustles—from beef sales and baked goods to handmade items and boutiques—only to struggle with visibility. Not because they lacked talent, but because they didn’t know how to market themselves.
I knew I could help.
Learning, testing, and taking the leap.
In the middle of moving, preparing for motherhood, and juggling a full-time job, I officially filed my LLC. Over the next year, I squeezed every spare minute into learning everything I could about modern marketing. I took courses, studied trends, and focused on one goal: building a strategy that actually worked for rural and agricultural businesses.
Once I had a solid system, I tested it across both ag and non-ag pages, including affiliate marketing and our own ranch platforms. I tweaked, refined, and proved that this approach wasn’t just theory—it worked.
Eventually, I took the leap and left my full-time job. I launched coaching and consulting offers for western and ag women—and it took off. Clients began gaining confidence, landing new customers, and finally seeing results from their online presence.
